The goal of education is to impart knowledge to students, they gain knowledge and upgrade their skills by using the new concepts they learn from educational tours. These trips are also important because they provide our students with attachment and internship opportunities.
From 23rd – 25th May 2019, ICS College Kisumu Campus’ School of Hospitality went for an academic and social trip to Suba where they visited the following places; Mbita Tourist Hotel, Mfangano Island, Blue Ridge Hotel in Rusinga Island and Ruma National Park.
Our students had the opportunity to learn the following;
1. The job of a receptionist in a hotel
2. Different designs and decorations in house keeping
3. How different meals are prepared in the kitchen
4. The setting of a buffet in a hotel
5. How the bar operates in a hotel and how to prepare different cocktails
6. At Ruma National Park they learnt the different species of animals found there.
